He participated in the rock opera ‘Tommy’ of The Who guitarist Pete Townshend between 1995 and 2005 as a guitarist in about 1000 shows.

In 2002 he was an actor, guitarist and singer in the Beatles show 'All You Need Is Love'. At the Theater Dortmund he was guitarist in musicals like ‘Cabaret’ or ‘West Side Story’, later he was guitarist in the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You' in Cologne and Vienna.

Since 1998 Peter Autschbach's formation 'Terminal A' has been touring through Germany and abroad. Solo and in collaboration with Barbara Dennerlein, Philip Catherine, Ramesh Shotham, Martin Kolbe, Dave Goodman, Jacques Stotzem, Joscho Stephan and Ulli Bögershausen.

Peter Autschbach is a 'professional autodidact', then private guitar student of Joe Pass in 1988/89. In 1990 he graduated with honors in jazz studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.

Since 2009 Peter has been playing in a Duo with the singer
Samira Saygili. Since 2010 he has been working with guitarist Ralf Illenberger, both duos gave hundreds of concerts since then. In 2020, gypsy jazz guitarist Joscho Stephan started a guitar duo with Peter, which was first presented in some online concerts and later in live performances.

In 2022 the band 'TA2' was formed with violinist Marta Danilkovich, bassist Nico Deppisch and drummer Jan Melnik. For the quartet Peter Autschbach created the compositions, which were premiered on August 6, 2022 with percussionist José Cortijo as gueston August 6, 2022, with percussionist José Cortijo as a guest
